Adelaide Safety Training delivers nationally accredited Working Safely at Heights training for individuals, small groups and workplaces across South Australia. This course is suitable for anyone working at height or in environments with fall risks, such as construction, maintenance, utilities, warehousing, civil works and mining.

Work Safely at Heights

One day Working at Heights Training Adelaide [RIIWHS204E ]

This nationally recognised unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge to identify hazards, assess risks and work safely at height using the correct fall protection systems and equipment.

Training includes both theoretical and practical components, giving participants hands-on experience with typical height safety equipment used across South Australian workplaces.

What the course covers

Participants will learn how to:

  • Access, interpret and apply height safety procedures and legislation
  • Identify height-related hazards and implement suitable risk controls
  • Select, inspect and correctly use fall protection systems and PPE
  • Check, fit and anchor harnesses and associated equipment
  • Use ladders safely, including correct setup and adjustment
  • Work safely on elevated surfaces, platforms and structures
  • Follow safe work method statements and workplace procedures
  • Communicate effectively during height work and emergency situations

    Assessment

    Participants must successfully complete:

    • Practical demonstrations of height safety techniques
    • Knowledge questions and in-class activities
    • Full competency in all required tasks before certification
    High voltage worker working at height

    Duration

    • One day (approx. 8 hours), including theory and practical assessment

    • Workers and supervisors performing tasks above ground level
    • Tradespeople, construction workers and plant operators
    • Staff required to use fall protection equipment

      Why do I need a Working at Heights ticket?

      Anyone performing work where a fall could occur must complete Working Safely at Heights training. This includes situations such as:

      • Working on roofs, platforms, scaffolds or ladders
      • Using elevated work platforms
      • Working near trenches, pits or changing ground levels
      • Performing maintenance or inspections at height
      • Occupations where a fall risk exists, even briefly

      Having a current Working Safely at Heights ticket supports compliance with WHS regulations, reduces risk and ensures staff know how to protect themselves and others.

      Combined Training Options

      For workers who require both confined space and heights competencies, Adelaide Safety Training offers both courses with flexible scheduling. Individuals travelling to Adelaide for training can complete them on consecutive days where available.
