All courses on this page are public courses delivered at our head office in Adelaide. You come to us and book as an individual or a small group. Adelaide Safety Training is a CITB endorsed provider, so eligible South Australian building and construction workers may be able to access CITB rebates on approved courses.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Adelaide
CPR [HLTAID009]
This course provides the essential skills to recognise and respond to a cardiac emergency until medical help arrives. You will learn adult and child CPR, when and how to call for help, casualty assessment, defibrillator (AED) use and basic life support in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
You will learn how to:
- Recognise and respond to cardiac arrest
- Perform adult and child CPR
- Use an AED safely and effectively
- Follow a structured action plan in an emergency

CPR Refresher Course Adelaide
CPR Refresher
This course is designed for people who already hold HLTAID009 and need to refresh their skills. It revises CPR techniques, AED operation and the key steps in managing a sudden collapse at work, at home or in the community.
You will:
- Refresh your CPR and AED skills
- Practise responding to realistic emergency scenarios
- Maintain compliance with workplace requirements
Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID010
This nationally accredited course provides the essential skills needed to respond to life-threatening emergencies until medical assistance arrives. It is ideal for people who need practical emergency response skills without completing a full First Aid course.
Participants learn how to recognise an emergency, call for help and provide immediate care to adults, children and infants in a range of settings, including workplaces, homes and community environments.
What the course covers
- Responding to emergencies using the DRSABCD action plan
- Performing CPR on adults, children and infants
- Safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Managing severe bleeding and shock
- Responding to asthma and anaphylaxis
- Managing choking and airway obstructions

Delivered as face-to-face or blended learning (online pre-learning with practical assessment). Includes practical skills demonstration and knowledge assessment.
Certificate valid for three years, with annual CPR refreshers recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.

This unit is often completed alongside HLTAID009 Provide CPR or included as part of HLTAID011 the one day provide first aid course.
Course requirements & delivery
- Minimum age: 14 years at the time of attendance
- Online pre-learning must be completed before the course
- CPR must be performed on the floor to meet accreditation requirements
- Face-to-face training: approximately 7.5 hours, including theory and practical components
- Short multiple-choice quiz at the end of the training

Provide First Aid [HLTAID011]
Our one day First Aid course covers the skills and knowledge needed to manage a wide range of emergencies until professional medical assistance arrives. It includes CPR, casualty assessment, using an AED and responding to common workplace injuries and illnesses.

- CPR in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines

- Bleeding, shock and respiratory distress
- Bites, stings, burns and poisoning

If you have a team to train, we can deliver First Aid and CPR training as a group booking at your workplace or at our Adelaide training centre. Group sessions can be tailored to your industry risks and scheduling needs.

Adelaide Safety Training is an approved third party provider delivering training and assessment services on behalf of Healthcorp Pty Ltd (RTO ID 91222). All qualifications and Statements of Attainment are issued by Healthcorp Pty Ltd in accordance with ASQA standards requirements.
Certificates are emailed to successful participants following the course. First Aid certificates are valid for three years, and CPR should be refreshed every 12 months as recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council.
